London Irish Rugby team play against other teams such as London Wasps and the Saracens. London Irish rugby club share a stadium with Bradford FC in the north of the UK. The London Irish stadium is called Madejski Stadium and plays host to many great rugby football games.

The London Irish rfc team celebrated their 100th year of distinguished service to rugby football. Within this 100yrs London Irish have had many players in the Irish national side as well as English National side. The London Irish team were generally Irish and England players hence the name London Irish. The London Irish's peak came between 1965 and 1975 under the leadership of Ken Kennedy with a side that featured Mick Molly and Barry Bresnihan just some of the great London Irish players of the time. Shortly afterwards London Irish were to top the London Merit table three times in four years and in 1980 reach the final of the John Player Cup.

1987 saw the introduction of the Courage Leagues and the beginning of a new era of rugby for London Irish and all other rugby football teams, In 1990-91 London Irish were promoted to the First division, with a side containing four new internationals Simon Geoghegan, Jim Staples, David Curtis and Rob Saunders, captain of Ireland at 22 years old.

The current London Irish squad contains players who have represented not only Ireland but also England, Fiji, New Zealand, South Africa, Wales and Western Samoa. In addition, there are a number of young, talented players in the squad who have performed exceptionally at under 18,19 and 21 level, and will certainly achieve full international honours for their respective countries before long.

An interest in developing young talent has for long been a feature of the Sunbury based club. London Irish has thriving mini, youth and junior sections which attract hundreds of players to the Club on Sunday mornings. These London Irish teams have played with great success not only in local and regional competitions but also farther afield in Europe and North America.

Five years ago London Irish confronted the implications of the professional era head-on and restructured itself to face the demanding challenges involved. A consortium of Irish business people, drawn largely from the membership, invested in the Club to secure its future.

The board of London Irish wants to see the Club competing not just in the top flight of British and Irish rugby but also on a European and world stage. The results of this work can be seen in the much changed squad that is now wearing the famous green London Irish jerseys and competing effectively and with typical passion in the Premiership and in Europe.
